10pm Bedtime SHARP

NO EXCUSES

At 5:45am this morning when I opened my eyes in the beautiful neighborhood of Murray Hill, Manhattan. I told myself: 10pm Bedtime SHARP. No excuses. Nothing gets in the way.

Well it’s 10:03pm and I’m writing the blog in hyper mode. On a 5 min timer again.

It’s interesting that I can say I am prioritizing sleep and that’s all that matters in terms of health. It’s true. Everyone says it’s #1 priority. And I do still care a lot about it. Big red light glasses guy.

But at times I have a tough time deflecting work. Especially with an insanely busy week coming up with shoots and hires and all these new things. I couldn’t resist wanting to do more.

Bryan Johnson’s advice would be to sever into the sleeping state an hour before bed and reject any thought that is out of line with the priority of getting to bed on time.

I breached that today. I frankly tell myself it’s OK.

It’s one of those tough 20-something year old things. I can function on 6 hours sleep. I want 8 hours, I also want to do more and sometimes that comes at the expense of sleep.

Jimmy Donaldson (Mr. Beast) sleeps around 5 hours / night often. I think yeah I don’t want to be that but I embodied that this week.

I really am trying to improve sleep. The hardest thing for me is sleeping in a room with bad blinds. Hyper sensitive to light.

I’m not sure how we got here but it’s 5 minutes. I’m tired and need to sleep.

Hopefully this blog didn’t put you to sleep. Extravirginguy birth still on the to-do list. Coming soon…

Good night (or morning).

PS I take 300 IU melatonin to help sleep. It’s considered a micro dose but seems to be good for me. Happy to hear any other supplementation recommendations!
