Celebrity Lookalike, Cold Plunges

Short and Sweet Today

Thought 1

Do I look like this guy?

Rick Mitarotonda — Lead Guitarist of the band Goose

In the past week I had 2 people double-take thinking I was this famous guitarist who then realized that I was just another normal dude.

The cold plunge installation at LifeTime fitnesses around the country is such a fantastic addition to the gym. The cold plunge not only provides the relief / effect that people seek to get out of a hot tub, but it also is a great social piece / conversation starter while spending time in the Sauna / Steam Room / Weight Room / Hot Tub.

What’s cool about the installation in my hometown is the plunge was installed in an old large hot tub so 10-15 people can fit in the plunge at a time. Really cool vibe

Thought 3

Going to gym classes makes me realize I don’t push myself hard enough in the gym on my own. I continually get to points of the class where I am “satisfied” and could walk out and move on with my day but then it’s like — no chance you’re leaving now… finish what you started. Since I’m not devoting a ton of time to making my training schedules at the moment, classes are a good solution for me and perhaps some of you as well.

I will say my favorite hack of classes is using that 2-3 minute “exercise on your own” time OR the moment immediately after class for instructor feedback on your form of a specific exercise. Then you not only get the benefit of the structure but also the education from the instructor. And of course seeing the others around you that are stronger and faster than you — this within itself plants the seed in my head that I can turn it up a notch. I am now converted into a multi-day per week class guy. Today’s 8am Yoga with Dawn… 10/10 highly recommend.

Have a nice rest of your weekend.
