Goodbye, Palloncino: Part 1

I'm 30,000 feet in the air. I am writing this on November 18th knowing this message will soon be sent to my loyal followers, listeners, fans, viewers, or however you'd like to characterize yourself.

Actually I moved onto writing about other things and now on December 3rd am continuing where I left off.

Palloncino originally started as a research project in January 2022. Whenever I think of "starting a business" I approach it like a school project. Palloncino was just that.

I wanted to get an understanding of how olive oil worked and if there was possibly a way I could help push an archaic, fraudulent industry forward. My optimism as a 23-year-old Wall Street Dropout was very, very high.

Over the next 2+ years I would embark on a life journey rather unique to myself. My desire to impact olive oil took me to 40 Olive Oil Producers across 5 countries, I met over 100 small business owners across Long Island (to sell the product) and fortunately was able to will Palloncino into 40% of those shops. Yes. I willed it in. I'm no natural sales guy.

While I'm thankful for these life experiences, the time has come for me to step away from Palloncino and the Olive Oil industry.

The question most of you may have is: why?

Palloncino has 3 active stakeholders. My producer, myself, and my customers. My producer is great and will continue to produce great olive oil (Frantoi Cutrera). You, my customers, are amazing and I am forever thankful to have you involved with this project since Day 1.

However, ultimately for this brand to operate, I need to have fun doing it. Since the beginning I told myself when it became no longer fun and exciting was the point at which I had to shut it down. Unfortunately, that time has come.

Here’s the Rundown

• Friday, December 6th is the final day you will be able to buy Palloncino Olive Oil. After that date, there will be 0 inventory remaining

• All prices on the website are final. No more discounts :)

• Videos will continue to be posted to @extravirginguy accounts across all platforms. For the most in-depth content, follow me on X (written content) and subscribe on YouTube (long video content)

And one last thing. There are so many people to thank that I am going to avoid the topic and stick with this message. Thank you.
