The 8:31am Cigar

Only in Brooklyn...

Today for breakfast I had an appetizing combination of leftover canned salmon, green peas, honey nut squash, quinoa, avocado, a dried fig, and a dried date. So tasty! I probably was full but in all honesty the second I got to my coworking space I finished all the nuts I bought on Tuesday at the Nuts Factory. At that point it wasn’t a thought about whether or not I was full - but whether or not I’d be hungry for dinner later tonight.

If you’re in NY you know it rained today pretty hard. This morning at 8:31 as I was walking to the train, I got a whiff of a familiar smell, but one that caught me off guard in the current environment. No way — in the rain? It can’t be!

Sure enough right beside me was this man chilling in his chair, enjoying the densely humid may air and puffing on a fat cigar. He seemed happy. What an interesting way to start a day right!

Man on the left side is the Cigar Smoker Lol

It gets weirder as I noticed the reconstructed subway map for the first time today. It looks quite funny but to be frank it is probably a bit easier to interpret especially for tourists.

Given the rain and many video shoots coming up I decided against throwing myself at new business owners with intention today though on the way to get a snack from the Japanese supermarket outside my coworking space I came across this man standing outside a casual pita shop - looking like he worked there. 25 minutes later I leave the establishment having tried a Cinnamon / Ginger Tea and learned about Druze Food. The owner of the place actually survived 10/7. Cool story — here’s their instagram: https://www.instagram.com/tabooniausa/

Fortunately I made it to the Japanese Food Court and was looking for a quick cheap option. Not as cheap as I thought, but then I came across a $2.95 item screaming EAT ME to my face and I budged. Gulped it down in about 90 seconds

Short one today. A lot of cool things happening. Excited to share em as they happen.

Enjoy the weekend - though this blog operates on business days not calendar days. So you should hear from me quite soon…
