Viral X Moment
Thanks MrBeast
For those new here this is the 35th day in a row I’ve daily blogged. If you want a new essay delivered to your inbox daily about high-end food, video-production, entrepreneurship, and other random elements of my life, click here:
I’ve weirdly gone viral on X several times in the past month without trying. Today’s viral moment is brought to you by the most famous person on the planet, quite literally.
How would you feel if you spent a year of your life to give hundreds of thousands of people clean drinking water and now some random page for a little bit of clout is telling people none of it works?

As someone who used to look at social media as cringe then 180’d my perspective while sitting on the olive groves in Spain, I now have a relatively numb mindset with regards to comments on platforms. Supportive comments are amazing, hurtful comments can hurt but most often the negatives comments are written off because I assume the person writing it is delusional and depressed. Whether or not it’s true is besides the point.
Context
For more context into this post and insight into why he replied, Jimmy (MrBeast) has previously stated on podcasts that his mother always told him to refrain from cursing in his videos. However this morning, he posted this on X:
When pages spread straight up lies like this with 0 proof (the wells are still operational) should I sue them? I’m so over people tearing down my name for some clout. It’s so fucken annoying

As a fan of Jimmy, I figured the mildly sarcastic line may have caught the attention of his true fans — but never of him.
I throw darts often. I do it so much that I sometimes forget that I even do it, but once in a while, in days like today, they strike gold. Not gold like “oh I’m rich,” but it is quite cool to have an inspirational figure acknowledge you directly and get 115k people to read a long form piece of writing (see below)
Not to say his acknowledgement was positive — but I would’t expect it to. My sarcasm made it seem like I was “trolling” (or messing with him per se) but the deeper meaning was the fact that he really shouldn’t get riled up by uneducated idiots online. That’s just my view.
And speaking of throwing darts, I actually had 2 hit in 1 day:
thats how i felt

Casey is another super inspirational figure in the YouTube universe.
I’m not writing these to get the attention of the creator — rather a digital diary to recall how I felt about these things as I saw them over time. Similar reason to why I’m blogging. Digital diary (with public accountability) of my view of the world. Also to improve my storytelling, while also catering to a small audience of loyal followers (YOU!) that I’ve grown to appreciate more and more over time. I know who you are!
And lastly when the lights are on me, I am going to perform. I figured the performance today was to write a long form piece to Jimmy directly. Got mixed reviews in the X comments understandably, but it’s truly how I feel:

You tangibly changed the lives of all people in that African village
The video-makers did nothing except tell lies
They should be irrelevant in your mind..
Longer post:
Jimmy, I will start with the fact that you are one of the top 5 most inspirational people in my life.
